Energy Rebates Bathurst & Central West NSW

Government Incentives for Batteries, Air Conditioning & Energy Upgrades

Make the Most of Available Energy Incentives

Government rebates and energy-efficiency incentives can help reduce the upfront cost of eligible home and business upgrades. Press Power helps customers across Bathurst, Orange and Central West NSW understand which programs may apply to projects involving batteries, air conditioning and other energy-efficient equipment.

  • Current Incentives: Understand which state and federal programs are available now.

  • Eligible Equipment: Make sure proposed products and installations meet the relevant program requirements.

  • Upfront Discounts: Many incentives are applied through approved installers or certificate providers rather than claimed later.

  • Practical Advice: Choose equipment because it suits your property first, with rebates treated as an added benefit.

Available programs, eligibility rules and discount values can change, so Press Power checks current requirements as part of the quoting process.

Contact Press Power today to discuss the incentives that may apply to your next energy upgrade.

Current Energy Rebates & Incentives

Battery Rebates

The Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program provides an upfront discount on eligible small-scale battery systems connected to new or existing rooftop solar.

The program is available to households and small businesses, with the discount generally applied through the retailer or installer. The federal government currently describes the benefit as around 30% off eligible battery installations.

Press Power can help you assess:

  • Whether your proposed battery may qualify
  • Your existing solar system
  • Appropriate battery capacity
  • Backup requirements
  • Electrical and switchboard requirements
  • How the available discount affects the overall project

NSW Battery & VPP Incentives

NSW also provides battery-related incentives through the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme.

Current arrangements include incentives relating to virtual power plants, along with battery activities for apartment buildings and businesses introduced during 2026.

The programs aren’t all designed for the same type of customer, and battery size, ownership arrangements and equipment can affect eligibility.

Press Power can help explain which current incentive pathway is relevant to the project you’re considering.

Air Conditioning Incentives

Eligible NSW households and small businesses can currently access discounts when installing certain energy-efficient air conditioners or replacing older systems through the NSW Energy Savings Scheme. NSW Energy

The exact discount depends on the equipment, installation and certificate value, so it’s important to confirm eligibility before work proceeds.

Energy-Efficient Hot Water

The NSW Energy Savings Scheme also supports eligible energy-saving upgrades, including heat-pump hot water activities. Press Power works with Reclaim and Apricus heat-pump hot water technology and partners with local plumbers to help customers move towards more efficient electric hot water.

Available discounts and product eligibility can change, so the applicable incentive should be confirmed when the project is quoted. NSW made further Energy Savings Scheme changes during 2026, including updates affecting commercial heat-pump water heaters.
